Developing students as readers and writers in the four-year curriculum: the role of the English Language Centres

Hosted by the PolyU English Language Centre, this Symposium follows on from the first Language Centre Symposium held last June.
The aim is again to bring together those working in each of Hong Kong's tertiary sector language centres so that they can share experiences, reflect upon practice and examine ways in which the centres might best prepare for introduction of the four-year undergraduate university curriculum in 2012.
From the previous Symposium it seems clear that learning and teaching practices relating to the development of students' written literacy are a common concern for all the language centres and this will form the focus of this Symposium.
